Re: vlc 1.2 nightly .3mu8.tmp livehttp

A patch that I've found to work is simply to comment out the renaming portion and write directly to the m3u8 file rather than a tmp file, however while it may work in small tests, it's likely to cause some nasty stuff with the webserver if VLC is writing while the server is trying to read it. I'm no...

VLC 1.2 nightly dvb-t buffer overflow

Hi, I was trying to use the new livehttp access_output module in the nightly builds on a windows system for streaming dvb-t (terrestrial digital tv) but all channels produce a buffer overflow error in the message output and the video or audio never actually plays. Is there any support for this, or a...

Streaming dvb subtitles and epg over ts

Hi. I've been trying various combinations of commands to try and stream a channel from dvb to another computer. I can get video and audio to stream ok, however no subtitles or epg is sent, even if --sout-all is specified instead of specific --programs. I've also tried to specify the subtitle id in -...

Re: Transcoding live RTMP to live MPEG-4

The new 2.1 version of rtmpdump includes an application called 'streams' which can connect to a RTMP server on-demand, and stream it over HTTP to another player. So far, the HTTP output is good enough for VLC but doesn't seem to be good enough for other players due to a hard-coded FLV format header,...

Status of RTMP Input?

Hi, I've seen lots of posts on this forum about RTMP input, but not many successful ones (although there was a few). Has the SoC RTMP code been merged into the trunk and is/has it been included in 1.0.3? And does it work for anyone else? I've tried on my VLC on Windows and all I get is VLC crashing....

Buffer position via VLC Plugin

Hi. When using VLC to view files direct from the internet (e.g. http://www.server.com/myvideo.mp4 ) with VLC, I assume that VLC buffers the download so that it will not underrun, but is the position of where VLC has buffered up to accessible via the javascript API? Both vlc.input.position and vlc.in...

Metadata with TS Stream from DVB-T Source

Hi. How can I stream "Now Playing" and "EPG" data along with my video and audio from a DVB-T Channel. Currently I am using the following code to stream: vlc --ttl 3 --program=$prog dvb:// --dvb-frequency=$freq --dvb-bandwidth=7 --sout="#transcode{vcodec=h264,acodec=mp4a,scod...

Compile fails on 0.9.9a with Ubuntu 8.10 and ffmpeg-0.5

Hi. I received an error when compiling VLC 0.9.9a on Ubuntu 8.10. ... MAKE : avcodec collect2: ld returned 1 exit status make: *** [all] Error 2 I'm not sure what logs are required so I will upload anything that helps in troubleshooting. I compiled and installed my own deb of ffmpeg and I think that...

IF statements in VLC's Format String

Hi. I'm requesting a feature that allows users to implement some sort of conditional formating in VLC Format String so that the format may change under different conditions. For example, for files which do not have artist metadata, display just the filename, otherwise display in the form "{arti...

System Tray Meter

Hi, I have a suggestion to make a few audio visualisations for the System Tray (where applicable). For example, having a simple icon that can specify dB of left/right channel on a small icon with levels http://img224.imageshack.us/img224/6098/vlcsystrayvissq8.png - sorry it's hard to explain. Or sma...
