Re: rtsp session via Internet - NAT problem

Thanks. What should I change in order to use the VLC rtsp broadcast mode for both the "IP-camera <--> VLC-Server" session and the "VLC-Server <--> VLC Client" session?

different behaviour VLC 0.8.6h Windows XP vs. FreeBSD 6.3

Hi, I am connecting VLC to an MPEG4 input stream generated by an Axis IP camera: rtsp://user:password@192.168.1.26:554/mpeg4/media.amp With VLC 0.8.6h on a Windows XP system this works fine. However, on my FreeBSD 6.3 system I get the following message after max. 1 minute: live555 debug: StreamClose...

Re: v0.8.6e compiler error under FreeBSD 6.3-STABLE

Hi, Make sure that /etc/make.conf DOES NOT contain the following lines: WITH_X11=NO WITHOUT_X11=YES If one of these is in, remove them, and rebuild vlc including all required ports. I always use portupgrade to install or upgrade ports. In case of problems, the following might help: portupgrade -R vl...

Re: v0.8.6e compiler error under FreeBSD 6.3-STABLE

Thanks for your quick response. I don't think I really need this libcaca, so I disabled this option in my VLC configuration. After having done this, the VLC 0.8.6e port was built and installed without any problem.

cheers, Erik

v0.8.6e compiler error under FreeBSD 6.3-STABLE

Hi, Compiling v0.8.6e on a FreeBSD 6.3 host ends up with the following error: cc -Wsign-compare -Wall -O2 -fno-strict-aliasing -pipe -pthread -pipe -pthread -pthread -o libaa_plugin.so -shared -pthread -fpic -fPIC -u vlc_entry__0_8_6 -L/home/usr/ports/multimedia/vlc/work/fake//usr/local/lib -L/usr/l...

Re: axvlc.cab doesn't automatically install the vlc player recen

Hi, Looking at the date of the last post, Oct 24 2007, I guess the statement refers to v0.8.6c. Indeed I find the axvlc.cab in the corresponding ../win32/ directory, which is missing in all later releases. Assuming this is the solution, can the axvlc.cab also be added for the latest version? Cheers,...

Re: Problem with IE Plugin

Hi, I just experienced the same problem. Checking the ftp download archive, I noticed that up to and including v0.8.6c, the file axvlc.cab is included in the corresponding ...../win32/ directory, but for v0.8.6d and 0.8.6e the axvlc.cab file is missing. I could not find anything in the related relea...

Re: incompatibility vlc-Axis w.r.t. rtsp basic authentication ?

Hi Babitha, Thanks. If you enable "anonymous viewer" in your camera, you can access your camera without giving a user-id and password as follows: rtsp://IP:PORT/mpeg4/media.amp However, since my camera stream is aiming at a closed user group, I don't want to enable "anonymous viewer&q...

incompatibility vlc-Axis w.r.t. rtsp basic authentication ?

Hello Until recently I used vlc version 0.8.4a. I connect to an Axis 207W IP camera as follows: rtsp://user:pwd@192.168.1.26:554/mpeg4/media.amp This worked fine. Since I upgraded to version 0.8.6d (with liveMedia-2008.01.04,1) this does not work anymore. I see the following messages: main debug: `r...

missing VOL causing long delay in starting stream decoding

Hello I am making an interesting observation, for which I hope someone has an explanation: Summary: I'm using vlc version 0.8.6d, running as a stream server on a FreeBSD 6.3-PRERELEASE host, and running as a player on Windows XP and FreeBSD hosts. 1. If I connect a VLC player directly to the MPEG4 s...
