So when I use VLC in full screen mode, the time toolbar is relatively narrow horizontally. This makes it difficult, for me at least, to skip forward or backward in small time increments, especially with long videos. Tried a couple of skins but they seemed to have no or very limited full screen inter...
Well thought my problem was solved but it's returned. I tested the resinstallation with music files and they worked ok, but with podcasts the problem is still there. Seems to be worse with longer files, and gets worse as playback advances. Or perhaps it's simply more noticeable with non-musical audi...
I'm using 1.1.0 on Vista 32-bit, 2GB memory, E2140 processor, Realtek audio. When playing mp3 files there are frequent, albeit brief, clicks and stoppages. Say a tenth to a quarter of a second. I cannot replicate the problem with other audio players, and the problem doesn't happen with videos played...
I had trouble with that too, I had to enter the globalhotkeys string several times before it stuck. Also try the newest version of VLC if you haven't already.
Thanks. I'll try some of the suggestions in that thread, and post again here with results. EDIT: I tried all of the relevant suggestions without success. Turning off desktop composition in Vista' compatibility tab fixed the problem but caused two others--it disabled Aero and caused weird problems wi...

The same taskbar & winamp settings work ok with other video programs when using their fullscreen modes. I figure there's some obscure setting that I'm overlooking
within VLC that'll fix this.
When I use VLC in fullscreen mode it doesn't properly stay on top of other programs--specifically Winamp and Vista's taskbar. I've provided a screenshot here to illustrate this: http://i35.tinypic.com/33wlhdd.jpg I've been having this same problem since I switched over to Vista--using a 2006-era ver...
There's no error message as such but here are a couple of screenshots that show what what the problem looks like. The first shows the thin line that is displayed with autohide activated. You have to use an external viewer to see the white strip of pixels at the bottom of the image. http://i18.tinypi...
Hi all. I'm using VLC 0.8.6d on Windows Vista. When in full-screen mode there is a very thin line of white pixels all the way across (horizontally) the screen. It's the same with all file formats and resolutions. The systems uses on-board Intel video, chipset G33/31. This problem doesn't occur when ...
