I can't open VLC to even reset the settings.

It instantly crashes when it's double clicked.

I did a complete uninstall, and reinstall, and it's working now.

I just tried to open up VLC and I got an error saying it needs to close. Tried the old 'Oldplugins" fix and it didn't work. This is all the information the debug menu says AppName: vlc.exe AppVer: 0.9.2.0 ModName: msvcrt.dll ModVer: 7.0.2600.2180 Offset: 00037740 Any help is greatly appreciated

Whenever I open a file it shows up as something like:

247Leg~.mp4 or Georg~1.mp3

How do I get VLC to show the FULL file name when it's opened?

OK I tested this with another file...and it shows the full name...

The MP4 isn't broken as far as I know.

It plays perfectly in Quicktime, the slider and everything works well.

I'll try "fixing" it. but I dunno if it will help.

ok if I have a 2 hour MP4 file (A movie. Legally obtained I assure you), if I try to move my slider to a point in the film (the funniest part). it simply jumps to the area I selected, freezes whatever was on the screen whenever I moved the slider, no audio plays, and the counter for the time continu...
