I was able to stream from QT Broadcaster to VLC too. I had to write a SDP file manually.

After some research I was able to directly stream from VLC to QT Player. I had to manually write a SDP file. Unfortunately, I can't remember any details right now.

Different length for audio and video tracks after transcode?

Hello all, I'm capturing clips from a DVB device and transcoding them to MP4 files (I need to open them with QuickTime, so they must be regular MP4+mp4v+aac files). This is the command I use: vlc dvb:// --dvb-adapter=0 --dvb-bandwidth=8 --dvb-frequency=602000000 --program=44 --sout '#transcode{vcode...

Did you manage to recover the file? I'd be very interested in such a solution.

Size limit for MP4 files?

I use VLC for transcoding and recording MP4 (mp4a+aac) files from a DVB-T source. Those files are good and can be viewed with any player, including QuickTime Player. I recently recorded some hours resulting in a 1.26Gb MP4 file. Only VLC can play it, while QuickTime doesn't. Is there any known limit...

Hmm yes, this could be easily done with some kind of Perl script that downloads up-to-date network topology from a website and then generates local VLC command line choosing to either play or to play and rebroadcast to its child nodes. If we go on with this, I'll post updates :-) Thank you markfm an...

Are the 400 users at the same time? If you use 400 UDP users, even if they don't want the stream they receive it. So you're downloading the banwith. But your bandwith is constant use. If 400 HTTP joins, you don't download the bandwith of your clients id they don't want to see the stream. Your bandw...

Viewing a QT Broadcaster stream

I'm not able to view a QuickTime Broadcaster stream using VLC. I tried both unicast and multicast, with all available compressions (including MPEG-4 and "none"). I always get this from VLC: [00000230] ps demuxer warning: garbage at input It is receiving data but it can't display it. Any id...

Unicasting to 400 clients

I need to broadcast a live video stream to 400 clients connected to the Internet, and I can't do multicast. What's the best solution? - Should I do UDP unicast to every single location using duplicate{dst=standard{},dst=standard{},dst=standard{}...}? Will this support 400 destinations? - Should I us...
