Re: constant buffering?

Not only with mkv files. However, I DISabled the Tools --> Preferences --> Video option "Accelerated video output (Overlay)", and I no longer get playback bar turning orange and moving through like a buffer progress bar. So for me this is a problem specifically with accelerated video outpu...

Re: Problem with Dual Displays

Fn+f4 or any hotkeys that are laptop related can cause problems, because you shouldn't change default display while you play video. No disrespect intended, but I think you mean to state that "you shouldn't change default display when using VLC, because we haven't considered this possibility .&...

Re: No Sound!

Just to be fair, I'll contact Flip Video, and let them know that my new Flip only creates broken ADPCM audio tracks. Let's see what they say  Well here's just about 2 cents from Flip Video -- but it does seem to vindicate VLC (too bad for Flip-owning VLC enthusiasts): "-----Original Mess...

Re: Problem with Dual Displays

For the nth time, just deactivate the Overlay, because this is more than probable that you graphic card doesn't accelerate both monitors. Wow, should that really be so obvious? Maybe if it's come up for the nth time, then the default configuration is not quite helpful ... or maybe there's really a ...

Re: No Sound!

http://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=43975&p=138679 http://wiki.videolan.org/ADPCM ADPCM should in theory work with VLC, but those audiotracks might include some special modifications that cause problems. Just to repeat the surprise that another user expressed in the related topic...

Re: Problem with Dual Displays

VLC has a similar problem with "external" or "secondary" displays -- eg, if I attach my laptop via S-VIDEO to a regular TV (after the laptop is already booted to WinXP, and VLC is playing a video) and then hit the old Fn+F4 key to switch to the external monitor, then VLC continue...

Re: No Sound!

You can use rapidshare, megaupload or similar service. Or you can use FTP and upload files to ftp://ftp.videolan.org/incoming/ and also include text file with same name that explains the issue with the file. I've loaded a .zip file containing the Flip Video clip and supporting files to the ftp site...

Re: VLC wont uninstall!?

Windows Media Player doesnt have .mkv or .mp4 listed. When i right-click and change the program that opens the file it still says VLC Media File (.mkv)/(.mp4) Its extremely annoying and th icons are still blank/white. ... possibly a simpler alternative: Right-click an .mkv or .mp4 file, and choose ...

Re: VLC wont uninstall!?

whatever you're using instead should have an option/function to re-associated filetypes with that preferred app.
You'll have to chose that option. If that's not available, you'll have to manually re-associate filetypes. If you can't find a way to do that you can always re-install your preferred app.

Re: No Sound!

Is this problem solved already, or should people still provide sample Flip Video samples?
If you still need files, let us know how to deliver them.

Better is if someone can provide a sample file.

I don't see an upload option for the forum.

Re: No Sound!

I am also having the problem with my Flip and its .avi files. I did ctrl+i and the audio codec being used is "ms". Any ideas? Thanks. I'm having the exact same problem with Flip video (VideoLAN detects "XVID" codec), but see 3 different behavior on 3 different XVID files: 1) FLI...

Re: VLC 0.8.6d unable to play AUDIO CD

You have DMA enabled? http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/device/storage/IDE-DMA.mspx thanks for this reference -- I checked my settings, which do automatically detect PIO transfer (DMA not available). Still, VLC cannot play an audio cd. Any other suggestions out there? Anyone able to confirm by experien...

VLC 0.8.6d unable to play AUDIO CD

Does anyone recognize these messages and know a solution? This happens with every Audio CD I try to "File -> Open Disc ... -> Audio CD". The resulting sound is extremely choppy and unrecognizable as music. I'm on Win XP Home SP 2 on an aging HP Pavilion with a cd/dvd writer that has alway...
