WMAP is a Microsoft WMA codec which, as far as I know, is not implemented yet in FFmpeg and so on Windows the dmo codec is used (uses proprietary Windows DLLs to decode). Every once in a while the VLC team seems to stop the nightly builds without any explanation, is there a reason for this?

The video selector bar bug is fixed in 0.9.0 We are thinking about what to do to integrate the controls in the interface... I get an error when I try and play a WMV file in VLC, and I was hoping that the new version would fix this, but I still get the following error:

main: no suitable decoder module for fourcc `wmap'. VLC probably does not support this sound or video format.

The file works fine with QuickTime though.

VLC is a great program for any computer, PC or Mac, but one thing VideoLAN need to do is improve the User Interface if they want people to switch to their player full-time. I thought the whole idea of Universal Binary was that it worked on both Intel AND PowerPC Macs? Yet the nightly builds do not work on my G5 and the sole PowerPC nighties haven't been updated for ages... So what's the score?
