Thanks for the response. I since worked out the keycodes for the media buttons and have tried a number of things but there also appear to be other bugs in VLC, for example the "arrow" keys don't work WITHOUT some form of modifier, for example "right-arrow" won't do anything in VL...

Hi, Can someone please point me at information about how to set VLC up to use the DELL laptop's media keys on the front of the laptop. I know where the hotkey configuration is, but don't know if the media keys emulate normal keyboard combinations and if so what these are and where they might be conf...
