Re: Nintendo Wii Remote or Wiimote

We want to have a family game night, but I only have one Wii remote (wiimote). If other family members have a Wii, and bring their Wiimotes to my house - will they work on my system? I know we'll have to synch them - will that screw it up on their home system? In short - can ONE Wiimote be synched ...

Re: PS3 Bluetooth Remote Control support

Ha! Correct. You will need a bluetooth dongle. I think they are are cheap as 10$. And yes you can map your buttons on your Wiimote any way you want. So if you wanted to map your minus and plus buttons on your Wiimote to jump forward and backward in VLC you would map them to keyboard events "n&q...

Re: PS3 Bluetooth Remote Control support

Great let me know how it goes. I have mapped in the wii.xml profile some defaults but you can customize them for VLC by making say the trigger button on your Wii remote a spacebar so that it play/pause in VLC etc. And you can actually load the VLC profile if you want and then do a "learn Comman...

Re: Windows VLC and Dell ExpressCard Remote

I agree with you. I AM a programmer and I have torn my hair out to try and figure out how to intercept this remotes commands. It is not a HID based remote and they don't seem to have any Open API as they were not interested in letting us take over this remote. The reason I know is I have an HP Pavil...

Re: Windows VLC and Dell ExpressCard Remote

I own one of these remotes also. Unfortunately they work only with the laptops irDA port and don't send HID or other signals. I have not seen anyone successfully implement overriding the control of this remote. Only the Dell or HP driver (in HP it's called quickPlay) responds to this remotes events....

Re: Auto close VLC after playback

You can use Intelliremote to program your SnapStream Firefly remote to control VLC completely. Any keyboard command or shortcut you want to execute from your remote is no problem. So if you wanted to close VLC by exiting it you could map a button on your SnapStream Remote to CTRL+X to close VLC from...

Re: Control VLC with a remote-control ?

Will intelliremote work if I have the Dell XPS ExpressCard Remote?
I have never had anyone ask but I own an HP Expresscard remote and I could not get Intelliremote working with it. It uses a strange combination of custom driver and sending keyboard shortcuts.
