Re: Audio is sent to wrong channels

I think everyone is kinda barking up the wrong tree with this. I've run some tests, and I've concluded: it's not a Mac thing, it's not an encoding thing. It's VLC either misreading a channel identifier in the audio stream/file header, or making an erroneous assumption about the how the channel assig...

Re: No audio in QT movs > 2Gb

To answer how the movies are made... in After Effects. Source frames are sequentially numbered 1408x1408 pixel JPGs, audio is 48kHz WAV. Rendered as QuickTime MOV, Photo-JPEG compression, Medium Quality.

Re: No audio in QT movs > 2Gb

OK, I've put a >2G mov that demonstrates this problem on my own ftp site (it's a movie we sell, a commercial product, so I would prefer not to just upload it anonymously). Please contact me at my gmail account (same username as this forum), and I will send you the login information. BTW, clipping ju...

Re: No audio in QT movs > 2Gb

Well, no short sample... it has to be bigger than 2Gb, of course. Pretty long download for you (and longer upload for me). But if you're willing to try, I am too. Let me know how you would like to work it.

Re: No audio in QT movs > 2Gb

I should add that for the same MOVs >2Gb, the video and audio DO play in QuickTime Player, so we know the audio is in there. However, the info window in VLC shows no audio stream; GraphEdt also shows no audio pin.

No audio in QT movs > 2Gb

VLC 1.1.11 and probably back to 1.1.5 --

If the file size of a QuickTime MOV is less than 2GB, it plays fine.

If the file size is greater than 2GB, it plays video but no audio.

Is this a known bug? Can you confirm? Any fixes or workarounds?

Thanks.

Re: Please -- display pixel dimensions in status bar?

Thank you for the reply j-b. Sorry to report that your advice does not seem to be correct, in Win0.8.6d. Nowhere in the three tabs in the Stream and Media Info dialog that pops up with a Ctrl-I do I see the pixel dimensions of the video displayed. Tons of other info, not the height x width. So, my r...

Please -- display pixel dimensions in status bar?

I would hope this would be really easy to implement. I'd like to see the pixel dimensions of the video, displayed in the status bar at the bottom of the screen, down there with the time/duration, speed, and filename boxes. A simple "1280x1024" or "640x480" is all I need. I would ...
