subtitles (Greek) appear as gobbledeegook

I have the Greek language pack on my PC, yet, having downloaded the subtitle files for two different movies, the subtitles in both appear as gobbledeegook...
please advise.

CONVERT DVD TO MULTIPLE VIDEO FILES - WINDOWS VERSION

Hello,
I can convert a DVD to one single video file, but it seems Videolan has the capability to break down the various chapters into a range of different video files.
If this is correct, and you know how to do this, I'd be very grateful for blow by blow guidance on how to proceed.

VLC for ipad was awesome - streaming videos from any folder or subfolder on dropbox, without having to download. I was reminded of it the other day, and have been uploading videos to dropbox for viewing over Wi-Fi. Suddenly, there was an error today - the video froze, and I couldn't get VLC to shake...

While it was a lovely surprise when videolan became able to play .mov files, when I use it to play tutorials in .mov format, the image is static.

Videolan won't start

Hello, I can't get Videolan to start. When I click to start it, I get a dialog box stating that an error has been experienced and that Videoland needs to close down (I'm paraphrasing). I have uninstalled and re-installed Videolan, but the same error persists. Anyone has an answer to this? Many thank...
