Hi Same issue here guys, so sorry for resurrecting an old thread Info: VLC 1.0.5 (win32) on both XP SP3 and Vista ISA 2006 on Server 2003 (also tried previously on ISA 2000 under Server 2003) MRL: http://193.27.42.233/clyde1.mp3.m3u (Clyde 1 streaming radio - only available from the UK - yes, I'm in...
I have it working successfully on XP/Vista Troubleshoot.... Run 2 copies of VLC both on the XP machine Set the first to stream using the above settings, and the second to receive and play the stream If this works (as it should if you followed the instructions carefully) then it's most likely your fi...
Port 1234 is the default port set for MMS in VLC, as you will see in the serving instance of VLC, next to "MMSH" and the address input box (which you will leave blank)
Actually, it's incredibly easy, and does not require a shoutcast server at all Also, you can have half decent image size too... 1. On the webcam PC fire up VLC and "Open Capture Device" 2. Click "Refresh List" for both Video src and Audio srv 3. Select the model of your webcam in...
My hauppauge tv card (analog) comes with a small windows app for cc (teletext) which supports scripting, and saving the text to a text file With a bit of jiggery pokery, and some vbscript (or whatever scripting language your particular OS uses) I'm sure that we could use VLC's marquee or RSS filter ...
well, I resent the fact that this software is public at all. And I guarantee you that this is not the only software that will run your little vid camera file ... I am sorry I ever heard about this .ts format and hope it is put to it's own miserable end sooner rather than later. Hahah what ignorant ...
Not sure for *ix, but there is a free version of vmware for windows available - setup as many virtual PCs as you like that way, with whatever OS inside them you like, then using them as testbeds
Awesome work so far! Like the linux DVB drivers, will this support multiple channels at once per device, or will you lock it to a single channel? Perhaps you can set an option where the user can choose via a checkbox - multiple channels at the cost of more CPU, or single channel for a more lean appr...
Can't you have duplicate outputs from a single input when using VLM, just like in VLC normally? If so, scrap the 2nd and 3rd broadcast, and integrate them all in the first - that way you only need to snatch one copy of the input too - might get rid of that choppiness, which is most likely caused by ...
Hi all I am using Fake: to create a testcard scenario for an mmsh stream, so that people have something to connect to while waiting for a film to start The second item in my playlist is the film, and I made sure that the output type of the fake: testcard is exactly the same as the output of the film...
Hi all I've been looking at a very similar issue... I want to create a playlist with multiple channels from an Analog TV Cap card, which will have 5 entries - 1 for each channel, so that I can issue a "prev" or "next" to change channel on my card Unfortunately, the docs for editi...
hi tx413 I've not looked at transcoding yet via VoD, but I have found that some DiVX4 and XViD's have problems when you try to vod them Adding "mux=mp2t" seems to correct this - Dont know if that will help with your transcoding too. May have a look at this later to see if it does Good luck...
I've already spoke to some of the videolan people about me redoing all the documentation for every aspect of using vlc - seems like a good idea to me, as I'm very good at writing and explaining things
Baritone: when setting up a new Vod new (Name of Vod) vod input (filename) enabled eg "new Scary vod input E:\Films\ScaryMovie.avi enabled" then use a VLC on your other PC that you wish to connect from, and connect as RTSP using THE NAME of the stream as you called it in VLM for the above ...
Baritone: i also tried to telnet in new Test vod enabled setup Test input E:\Films\Test.mpg (the telnet session paused at this point for a second or 2 while it checked the file - then i got the telnet prompt back) show media (output was: Test type : vod enabled : yes instances ) No i do not know how...
Baritone: what docs are these? i looked in the streaming howto - there was a section on scheduling/broadcast/vod - but i saw nothing for VoD in that - is there a diff doc or am i just being exceptionally dense and blind?
Thanks markfm - I was looking at that, but I dont like the look and style of the http interface, and the http interface as of the latest build (dont know about others) only has broadcast and schedule - no VoD (just like the docs)
Yeah thanks Baritone - I saw that in the streaming how-to, it gives a heading for broadcast/scheduling/VoD, and then explains the first two. It gets to Video on Demand, and theres nothing but a title I've checked using the inbuilt webserver and the remote control and telnet - nothing for VoD at all ...
