Well, I tried to extract your file, but it was part of a multi-part RAR file, and one cannot extract a multi-part RAR file without all of the parts being present. Dont extract it just put it into vlc? Would you mind trying to play the same file in vlc 1.xx ? Something was left out from 1.x to 2.x

I dont see why the feature from 1.1 cannot be implemented? Can you tell me why, copy paste the code and make it fit with twoflower and profit ?

Since when did vlc turn into, just do more complicated work so vlc can play it. No thanks ill look for other alternatives to vlc that actually can play all my files without doing crazy amount of work first

This file is broken, so no. Well its not since its only asking for other directions as you can see if you open it in fx. winrar... All the files are made that way, and since its working in 1.1 then i cannot see how its broken it was a feature in VLC before two but is now gone/left out/forgotten??? ...

No its no a wrong file.. Check out old versions of VLC player 1.1.11 it works fine also WMP plays it with default codecs in windows 7 !.

It's not an AVI but a RAR file containing an ISO image with MPEG-2 video, AC-3 audio and RLE subs. FFplay is playing it. You should just extract the ISO from the RAR file. Please We all know that WMP aint that advanced and it play's it well, this has always worked before with VLC. Try out vlc-1.1.1...

No delays on aspect ratio change in here under Win32. I can see the aspect ratio swaps, but they are part of the stream.

So any news on this problem?. Do you want me todo other things, im ready todo whatever it takes to make it work

It seems to work OK in Mac. I have to test this on Windows also.

What are you exact looking for and doing since you say its working ok in mac?, cant u see the aspect ratio swaps ?.

I have successfull recorded a sample around 200mb, sorry i could not get it lower. The first 32 seconds is from the tv television x-files, then it swaps to commercials, and swaps back to x-files again after 5 minutes. I forgot to post a picure showing some codecs information and with 16:9 selected and still showing as it was in 4:3.

I use dual monitor so thats why theres an extra picture in the top with the codec information .

You found the solution ? im from denmark and i have the same problem with my provider using iptv with vlc.

you could use libvlc and "poll" for the aspect ratio, to look for changes...maybe... :) sounds interresting however im no coder nor everything just a regular normal dude that like to keep one size :) could you push me in the direction of what todo or has it already been made :) edit!!!!!!...
