I can't seem to figure out how to edit the post so I'll post an update here. I figured out what was wrong. I found a solution till it gets fixed. Go to preferences, show all, video and change video cropping which is above video auto scaling to 16:9. Also, make sure that source aspect ratio is 16:9 under it.

There is an option in preferences that when you hook up another monitor will show up under video. Look for fullscreen video device and change it to your external monitor while it's connected and you're good to go.

When you say it's fixed since then, does that mean there's an update to the release candidate or that there will be an RC2 soon that fixes the problem? This problem and the issuse will multiple monitors are the only thing that prevents this from being perfect for me. But I would like to congratulate...

I'm experiencing playback issues on an mkv file where it'll play the first minute or so but then restart at the beginning of the vid. I know about the hotkey for recording but it still doesn't work. The directory in which I say to save the recording disappears after closing or doesn't work at all.

yeah but two problems. One I have no idea where to get the release canidate for 1.0.0 and two I have no idea how to reencode them using vlc. That's what my question is. I want to know how to convert them from rvmb to mov, mpeg, avi etc. Or anything for that matter.

I'm loking to export rvmb files on my mac to avi using vlc since nothing else seems to work or even play it for that matter. It's really frustrating. Is there any straight forward way to do this?

I love it. I can finally use my apple remote again (oh how I missed u lol). But I was wondering, the fade out into full screen is a bit annoying for me.
