Re: Newbie: please help

What did you try to update? From what version to what version? What error did you get? Which VLC version are you using? Are you trying to play a DVD, a divx file or what?

Re: Telnet

But do you really want to do with VLC through the telnet interface? What do you want to play? The telnet interface is aimed to configure VLM (a broadcast/VoD server), not to play anything.

Re: Behaviour when configuring a RTSP session with liveMediaServ

So, let's see if I got it...

There is no way I can get RTCP reports properly working with current VLC 0.9.6 using VOD configuration with VLM because it is not properly programmed in VLC (given that the Live555 libraries work perfectly as it has been shown).

Is this right?

Re: Behaviour when configuring a RTSP session with liveMediaServ

Yes, I know. But you said that maybe I was using crappy VOD and I asked you if you could please tell me what you meant, because I don't know any other way to configure VOD with VLM, so if you're saying that there is a smarter way to configure VOD with VLM so I can get RTCP reports working well (to t...

Re: Subtitles streaming. Is it possible?

And how should it be configured with the VLM telnet interface? The only configuration commands I know are the ones in the documentation with "new X vod enabled", "setup X input path" and that's it. Is there any more extended cofiguration mode/syntax?

Thanks and regards.

Re: Subtitles streaming. Is it possible?

No, just synchronized in a way that I could manage text in the player.

Subtitles streaming. Is it possible?

Hi,

I would like to know if it is possible to stream subtitles with VLM VOD. If so, is there any restriction and/or known rule to be applied? How should I do it?

Thanks,
Javi

Re: IPTV - EPG And On Demand Channels

I developed an IPTV based service platform and I used mad-flute to separately deliver the EPG, where VOD contents and channels' URLs were contained. Regarding channels delivery over wifi networks, multicast enabled routers should only transmit channels are being watched, i.e. the multicast group has...

Re: Missing srt subtitles

The point is that the srt file has the same name with srt extension, but being or not in the same directory, I get the previous error and no subtitles at all.

Re: Missing srt subtitles

I've just tested the same srt file and content with VLC under Windows XP and it works properly. Any idea about what I'm missing here? Does the srt file need to be in the same directory where the video file is? However, I've tried it and it doesn't work at all. Am I missing any module in VLC installa...

Try dropping the "=" symbol, leaving a blank space instead.

Missing srt subtitles

Hi there, I have created a simple srt subtitles file with GNOME subtitles editor and, after checking in the preview window that it was properly synchronized I tried it with VLC but I got no subtitles at all. These are the output messages: main debug: forced subtitle: /contents/rock_GARBAGE.srt main ...

Re: JVLC help! :-(

You need to add the JVLC jar file to the project classpath so Netbeans can get the classes properly.

Re: Video On Demand - save sessions / subtitles streaming

I'm also interested on how to stream subtitles along with RTSP contents with VLC configured with VLM telnet interface, because I know nothing at all about how it must be done (neither if it can be done).

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Behaviour when configuring a RTSP session with liveMediaServ

I feel like stupid... xD... I can't understand you. I wrote 'vod' and you wrote it again but in bold, so I don't know what is the difference. I just followed the instructions in the official documentation of VLM configuration. What should be the correct command to configure an video on demand conten...

Re: Behaviour when configuring a RTSP session with liveMediaServ

As I am using VLC 0.9.4 on both client and server sides (as you can see on the RTSP messages), then I may be using what you named "crappy VOD mode of the RTSP server". What I do is to start the VLC VOD server this way: $ vlc --ttl 12 -vvv --color - I telnet --telnet-port 60099 --telnet-pas...
