Well surprisingly it didn't do the trick. I still see the cone icon. Unfortunately, from what I saw on the support forum, Media Preview is broken on Windows 8 RTM. So you can either keep an eye on the official site for an updated version, or on the support forum. Or if you're a reasoned programmer,...
I just get a black screen that says "Waiting for video". It doesn't matter if it's a regular video or HD. I can play the QuickTime movies on the VLC demo page just fine. Is this a known issue, and if so, will it be fixed?
Jim, have a look at the nightly builds . I noticed some debug builds over there. My registry keys were correct. It turns out the DLL has to be in the same folder as the EXE. So not only does the 7-Zip version have the plug-in in the wrong folder (vlc- version \mozilla) but the instructions also inco...
I'm fairly sure in my case HKLM\Software is for 64-bit applications. I've added the key anyway and it didn't help. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VideoLAN] [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VideoLAN\VLC] "InstallDir"="C:\\Program Files (x86)\\vlc-1.0.2&qu...
InstallDir , that is what VLC plugin will seek from registry. And where am I supposed to put that? Adding it to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\MozillaPlugins\@videolan.org/vlc,version=1.0.2 made no difference. I've also tried adding the following. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY...
CarpeDiem: you also wrote the registry key so that VLC plugin can find VLC directory? I had only copied the files, according to your documentation at http://www.videolan.org/doc/play-howto/en/ch04.html#id310965 : Windows Quit Firefox or Mozilla Copy the two files in VLC_Installation_folder\mozilla ...
I have the same problem. Windows Vista x64 SP2 VLC 1.0.2, 7-Zip version (extracted to C:\Program Files (x86)\vlc-1.0.2 ) Firefox 3.5.4 ( npvlc.dll and npvlc.dll.manifest copied to C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\plugins ) The plug-in shows under Tools > Add-ons > Plugins and Tools > Options >...
Press i on your keyboard or use the mouse option in preferences. I'm on Windows XP SP2 and like I said, moving the mouse to the bottom of the screen does nothing. Pressing the I key, besides the fact that it's inconvenient, brings up the taskbar along with the remote-style window. That's even more ...
Then what's this option for? It doesn't do anything when enabled. Can't we at least keep a remote type window on top? If I enable Always On Top, it's the video window that's on top of the remote! Is there no way at all to fast forward (seek) a movie in full screen other than keyboard shortcuts?! :( ...
