Re: Issues with current Release on Windows

Sinobi and benwillcox: if you can pinpoint when this was broken, someone can check the git for changes that caused this. OK I have tested a few of the nightly builds from nightlies.videolan.org, and the last working version I could find was 0.9.0 built on the 18th August 2008. The About box says 'B...

Re: spdif or not?

Hi Ben, Would it be possible for you to advise me: what soundcard you use, what version of VLC you are running, and whether you have any extra codecs installed? Hi Daz, I see you have now got it working anyway, my soundcard is integrated into the motherboard and is an AC '97 device apparently, and ...

Re: Nightly Builds - Bugs and Fixes

Thanks, I will do this, and report back if/when the problem is resolved.

Cheers,
Ben
After discussing the SPDIF issue on vlc-devel, the faulty changeset that caused the problem was reverted, and the problem is now resolved in the latest nightlies.

Thanks,
Ben

Re: spdif or not?

Hello, sorry if this post is not much help to fix those who have problems with their SPDIF output, but just to say that I have no problem using SPDIF with VLC for both DD and DTS audio output, as long as I change the Audio output to the Win32 waveout module. So, I wonder its a sound driver issue, ma...

Re: Nightly Builds - Bugs and Fixes

I'll confirm that this is true, all builds after the 22end of October give me an "Assertion" error and then crash. I'll post a ticket if there is already one. This is a different problem. I also get that same error on very recent builds, however the SPDIF issue I refer to appeared on 23rd...

Re: Nightly Builds - Bugs and Fixes

SPDIF audio problem
Can you give the exact date of change ?
Yes :D I have just downloaded several versions and tested them. The last working version is vlc-0.9.0-svn-20070922-0001, the problem then appears in vlc-0.9.0-svn-20070923-0000 onwards.

Thanks,
Ben

Re: Nightly Builds - Bugs and Fixes

SPDIF audio problem Hello All, been using various 0.9.0 nightlies up to around August time, using SPDIF output to my AV receiver, works perfectly for Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS. However, the nightlies from the past couple of weeks seem to have stopped working with SPDIF. When playing a DVD with Dolby...
