I know it's been a while, but I don't think I was specific enough. My bad.

I should have said, "stream to a file," for example, a simple AVI or MPEG that will work properly even on computers with a minimal amount of codecs available, such as Windows XP on a fresh install.

File, Open file.
(Choose file.)
Check Stream/Save, click Settings.
Add the Play Locally option if you wish to listen as it is streamed.
Add the File output.
Encapsulation mode to Raw.
Check Audio Codec. Type to MP3.
Click OK and OK.

Stream to MP3?

I don't know how. I've searched the forum and found instructions on WAV (and have successfully worked with VOB to MPEG video), but can't seem to figure out streaming directly to MP3 format. Help?
