The nightly builds for MAC OSX Intel are back since the 5th of July.

Sound is back in the latest build.

Don't work for intel either.

A nightie is basically a nightgown. So reason why there are no new nighties is that maybe they are out of fashion. :lol: Anyway as for the nightly builds, they will come when someone sort out the problem with the compilation. Those guys are doing the stuffs in their free time so I am patient for tho...

Let's hope that the audio and the preferences work when the nightlies are back.

The new builds will be called "Return of the nightlies"....

The nightlies are gone again. Last one was on 21 May 2008. Hope when it comes back again we get audio for a52.

There are lots of spammers too. You need to know what you are downloading. I am guessing it is torrent file. Read the comments first. There may be warning posted by other users.

YOu are right space does not always work. YOu need to click in the picture and then space to make it work. This happens when you option tab to another application and then go back to VLC. You then have to click in the vlc window to have space work.

I am downloading all new builds. When I get audio for that format, I'll let you know.

I just tried the preferences with build of 21 May 2008. I access all preferences without problems. For some options to be available you need to go to advanced mode. For just a few of these it is blank, e.g. video output caca. But then for the latter option I don;t know what it is anyway. In some lan...

Try moving your cursor to the bottom of the screen and move back up a little. Wait for sometime. On my iMAc it disappears after a couple of seconds.

Hey! In build of 15 May, the preferences open correctly with the options appearing correctly. I can change the stuffs in there.

The magic solution is to "Delete preferences and cache" by double clicking on the delete preferences icon in the goodies folder.

Maybe the problems with the nightlies are due to some parasites.

I do agree with Parasite that the a52 does not work. Both from DVD and from AVI, MKV files.

Same error as you with build of 12 May. Mine is an IMac Intel OSX 10.5.2. The problem I have is wihe a .mkv (matroska file) file. Same plays well with VLC 0.8.6f.

The nightly builds are up again but I cannot get sound on some movies but sound Plays well on 0.8.6F.

Same problem with build of 11 May 2008. I am waiting for the next build to tests.

Method 2:

> ctrl click on the AVI file
> choose GET INFO
> On open with section choose VLC from the drop down menu
> Click on CHANGE ALL under "Use this application to open all documents like this."

THe nightlies are gone again!

Try deleting the VLC preferences. Use the Apple script, Delete_Preferences, in the Goodies folder.

Seems the april build just opens for a sec then closes.
i have tryed both versions

I have been ble to play DVD and open avi files too. Which OS you are using?
