P2PTV may be

Well, BitTorrent downloads I supose that can't be supported as stream, because the torrent can deliver video parts in a non-contigous order.

But the interesting side is the P2PTV open protocols offered by the following free software:
- DistribuStream
- FreeCast
- MediaBlog
- PeerCast

PeerCast and BitTorrent protocols support

The VLC project has a great component: the VLC plugin for web browsers. But to make easy to integrate this with live streams broadcast systems and massive delivery, is needed to support protocols as BitTorrent and PeerCast . It could help servers to publish video files and video streams without fear...

Multitrack or selectable track when transcoding

Sometimes the user has a video FILE with more than one audio track (for example, french and spanish), and wants to convert/transcode it with only 1 audio track in 1 language, or wants to convert format preserving all the tracks. When the source is a disc, you can select the audio and subtitles track...

Re: Command line HTTP/File stream: nothing to play

Changing the equal (=) character for a space ( ), VLC displays me the content now, but any additional output is ignored, as streaming in HTTP or saving in a file.

I'm trying to do the three things at once: play locally, save in a file and serve with an HTTP stream.

Thanks

Re: Assume default options as specified in command line

Well, I didn't explain correctly.

When I run that command line, with the VLC open if I go to [File] - [Open capture device] the values are default. It would be good to find the values copied to the fields affected by the command call; it would make easier changing and trying parameters.

Command line HTTP/File stream: nothing to play

Scenario: Ubuntu GNU/Linux 7.04 + Logitech Quickcam Pro 4000 (USB) If I run: vlc v4l:// :v4l-vdev="/dev/video0" :v4l-adev="/dev/dsp1" ..VLC plays the video and audio from the device, fine. If I run: vlc v4l:// :v4l-vdev="/dev/video0" :v4l-adev="/dev/dsp1" :sou...

Assume default options as specified in command line

When I call VLC with a command like: vlc v4l:// :v4l-vdev="/dev/video0" It runs well, but if I push Stop button and I want to play it again, all the parameters return to VLC defaults, and I must to specify every configuration again. It would be good to assume the command line parameters as...

Message or different image for ActiveX plugin

When somebody visits a web page with an embedded VLC object, first sees the VLC media player icon centered on a blank spare. A lot of people identifies this as an "Under construction" message, while the play doesn't begin. Can it be replaced with a text (parameter in the OBJECT html tag) o...

Contextual menu for the ActiveX plugin

Could be possible to make a context menu to be shown when user "clics" with the secondary mouse button over the image?
This would be util to select audio track, subtitles, zoom, Stream and media info, etc.

All parameters fot the ActiveX in HTML

As described in http://wiki.videolan.org/ActiveX/HTML, could be specified in the OBJECT parameters the same as the command line syntax for VLC?

Automatic caching calculation

When we open the File/Disc/Net/.. dialog we have a "Caching" option to specify the milliseconds of media to preload before playing it. When the media comes from a network source, could it be calculated? For example, with a checkbox "Automatic" near the "Caching" paramet...

Command line parameter for Caching

When we open the File/Disc/Net/.. dialog we have a "Caching" option to specify the milliseconds of media to preload before playing it.
Could it be as an option for command line calls, too?
