I am honestly just wondering if this is even being maintained anymore? or is it deprecated? Since the 9.x versions of VLC i've had very little success making the vlc plugin work, usual issues are no vide but gets audio just fine, other things range to javascript errors calling the playlist.play function (Invalid method etc) all the players i've found that support the >=8.6 style of embeddi...

I haven't found one, but what i've done is made a function that takes the MRL and a short name for it and assigns both into an array then calls the playlist.add(MRL) I know it's not what you asked but I was looking for the same thing and just gave up and started tracking it myself.

yep in the interface there seems to be no relevant changes, and just for kicks I tried all of this weeks builds no change same issues. i find most of the time it fails emidiately when the playlist is opened the nightly builds have only proven to be less stable, I have the same issue on OS X vlc but ...

no but I've checked through the developers wiki and subversion comments, i haven't seen any changes relavent to the playlist functionality

I'm not sure if anyone has noticed this, but it seems using very large playlists makes vlc on windows very unhappy and sometimes crashes just loading the list.
