Re: VLC from command line

I solved it by adding a --daemon to the command line.

Re: Compiling vlc 0.8.5

For a few reasons. 1) I can't get vlc 0.8.6a to work with DreamBox DM500 - I can't play no stream from this device. The image and sound is extremly corupted. 2) Because of this problem - http://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=41597, that I understand that it didn't existed in older versi...

Re: Compiling vlc 0.8.5

I fixed the problem by installing ffmpeg-config that is in the debian package libavformat-dev.

I try to compile vlc 0.8.5, but I receive the followin error: configure: error: Could not find ffmpeg on your system: you may get it from http://ffmpeg.sf.net/ (cvs version is recommended). Alternatively you can use --disable-ffmpeg to disable the ffmpeg plugins. This question is in the FAQ, but the...

Dream box

I understand that vlc 0.8.6 can't work with Dream box dm500. So I compiled a vlc 0.8.1. I try to relay from a DM500 with vlc, using http. I do this: vlc -vvv http://192.168.252.100:31339/0,0457,01ff,0298 --sout '#standard{access=http,mux=ogg,dst=192.168.252.10:8080}' And I get a lot of these warning...

Streaming when required.

I want to relay some streams and I must use the bandwidth only when a client tries to access a particular stream.
So if no client tryes to view stream X, than stream X will not be downloaded.

Can VLC do this?
