It would be very cool if vlc supported Toaster ( http://www.myplugins.info/toaster.htm ), my favorite winamp plugin. It pops up a nice opaque "toast" between tracks that shows the folder's album art, track name, and track length. Then it casually fades away.

Whenever I install VLC, I manually open up explorer's "File Types" options and change the files associated with Media Player's file icon.

The vlc.exe file only has one icon in it. There's really no reason why vlc.exe can't have some more icons compiled in it from which to choose.

Replace that lame orange constructio icon with something cool.

Also, a better icon for files associated with VLC, preferably a white sheet of paper with a little version of the VLC icon in the bottom-right corner, like other programs use for their file associations.

okay then, the next practical question would be.... why is the anchoring feature in the "skin" code instead of in some sort of general interface code? it would seem that anchoring would be something that ALL skins could take advantage of, and therefore be in some general interface code ins...

As long as the new features, like the "media library" and the QT4 interface, don't get in the way of vlc's quick load time.

One of the primary reasons I use vlc is because of it's quick load time, even on older computers.

No. And I'm fairly certain that wouldn't work, since I need to manually sync the audio and video together. Sometimes the audio file or video file has something like an introduction at the beginning that messes up the sync when I try to automate it.

Yet another simple one:
In wxwidgets, in the status bar, preferrably in the embedded playlist, show the total time of all files currently in the playlist.

Very simple feature request:
With wxwidgets skin, change the status bar to show the time REMAINING in the currently playing file, NOT the time elapsed.

If this can be done already, please let me know.

Yes, I have the latest version. But it increases the process to a priority that windowsXP considers (in task manager) to be merely "AboveNormal" priority, *NOT* "high" priority.

It would very cool, even as a plugin , to be able to play a separate audio track with a separate volume control while playing a video (a volume control for the video and a volume control for the separate mp3). Additionally, it would be a good feature to allow for two separate "seek" slider...
