DVD menus seem to work fine for me, i used 0.9.2 and 0.9.4 and works good for me

With any video in a .mkv container the whole video file has to be prossesed, you can see it happening with peran in QT.just look at the time slider bar in QT with perain when you load a movie thats in a .mkv container it will show the slider but it will also show a progress bar within the slider bar...

have you searched using google lately. its called multi regon (or unlocked) optical drives, you have to flash the firmware in the drive to be able to play dvd's from a diffrent regon. on most drives they allow you to set the drive 3 times , but the 3rd time the drive becomes hard locked to the regon...

yea i posted a topic about 0.9.2s slowness. in 0.8.6i everything plays great (except anything in a .mkv) on my G4.

it seems we have a regression going on here. instead of getting better things got allot worse. i will be staying with 0.8.6i until i see that it has improved.

the new 0.9.2 version of VLC is very slow on a G4 PPC. even playing low quality divx video plays very choppy, it bogs the hole system down, i had to move back to 0.8.6I to be-able watch any video.

to bad osxbmc is Intel only or i would give it a try. but i guess that is why i have a PC. VLC is great so far on my PC so far everything i have played with it hasnt bogged it down yet. but time will only tell.

when the next error message pops up put a checkmark in the be quiet or W/E it says and press dismiss. in preferances make sure you have advanced checkmarked then start digging for anything that says be quiet (which will make the error messages go bye bye) then click on save.

have you tried the QT plugin called flip4Mac ?

Not to sound like a butthole, but this one is simple to get by. if your using VLC close iTunes, if your using iTunes close VLC. i dont think there is any other way to do it cause that is what the remote is supose to do with iTunes open. maybe there needs to be something that blocks iTunes from recev...

have you tried with another video player as a test (not QT) like MPlayer OS X or Niceplayer ?

Just tested the XBMC port for OS X.... It's very well done and it supports the subtitles (ssa) very well and it has a good upscaler.... give it a try....

cant i dont have a intel Mac, and this will only run on intel laden Macs and not PPC

i would recomend MPlayer OS X, and Niceplayer plus they play videos in a .mkv 1000% better.
