Ok, i tried running the x264 movies on my Athlon X2 4200 cpu with windows. They actually use quite alot of cpu-power to decode. So that solves the mystery with high cpu-usage under linux (thought it might be a bug). Just out of curiosity - why does it use so much? :) I am still concerned about the q...

Thanks for the tip! It compiled now. And i actually got to play one of the mkv movies - the dvd one. However! The quality of this video was not impressive compared to the quality i get in windows. The linux picture is somewhat... blocky :) Not big blocks but you can see the border and edges of stuff...

And for some reason my the CPU usage goes to 100% when viewing thoose two files. I can watch all other types of movies with no problems CPU time wise.
