I know that 10.3.9 is no longer supported, but is there any chance that the fix will be back-ported to 0.8.6c? Given that the problem has affected so many recent versions, I would suspect that the problematic code is not Tiger/Leopard specific and thus it shouldn't be too difficult to update 0.8.6c...

Same problem using the latest Nightly on iMac Intel CoreDuo OSX10.4.9 .. Strange. This crash has now been reported on G3, G4, G5 and Core Duo processors running either OS X 10.3 or 10.4. Makes me wonder... are there actually any Mac users that don't experience the crash on quit? And are all of them...

Installed VLC 0.8.6c on an iBook G3 with 10.3.9. Crashes on quit whether command comes from menu bar or Cmd-Q. I get a delay, spinning wheel then an Apple crash notification dialog window. Occurs everytime even when just launching and then quitting without playing anything, or after viewing some co...
