YDL/Fedora + old PPC + VLC = ?

I have a few older Macs lying around and I thought I'd set up VLC as a media server on one of them, and use YDL or Fedora Core to make the best use of limited resources. I have a G3/400 and a G4/867. Memory isn't a problem, as I could max out either and I'd set them up with SATA cards and a boot dri...

Re: MKV

Agreed. Mplayer (when I can make it work -- ugh) does do a better job than VLC with MKVs, but VLC is more stable than Mplayer, at least for me. I'm on a dual 800 PPC G4.

More info on Applescript

Well, here's what I found out: 1) The Applescript section is pretty straightforward. 2) You can't compile VLC on OS X unless you're using 10.4 or higher. (2) is a real deal-killer for me, as I have some coding skills, but I'm on Panther. Too bad, actually. I got down into the code and started making...

Wiki is Broken

Accessing any page on the wiki serves up a database error. This makes it difficult to get at the code, the docs, and most things of interest to a potential developer. Here is the error: Database error A database query syntax error has occurred. This may indicate a bug in the software. The last attem...

Applescript and VLC (0.86+)

Is there documentation on VLC's Applescript capabilities? I've searched the forum and the site and haven't found anything that lays it all out. Thanks.
