I'm using Apache as I run WinXP Home which doesn't come with IIS. Here is a link describing what to do. http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/librar...

Microsoft WmvHd file update

Hi All, Many thanks to all who replied re-WmvHD and DVR-MS support in Videolan. I rebuilt my system, ie, reinstalled XP, service packs etc and now WmvHD files play perfectly using Videolan. Can't say exactly what might have been wrong in my previous installation....maybe to much mucking around and c...

DTS - Reply from DTS inc

Hi All, I contacted DTS and they replied that they were not in discussion with Videolan regarding licensing and suggested they would be 'happy to refer you to one of our licensees for DVD playback software. All of them do offer PC OEM bundled packages.' So no joy there it would appear. I know VLC us...

Apache http streaming problem

Hi All, I'm setting up a VoD solution at home, to stream movies recorded from digital TV to various PC's around the house. I have setup Apache webserver v2.0.52 on a Win XP Home machine. I use VLC 8.1 on the client PC's. A movie (mpeg2) can be anywhere from 2gB to 7gB in size and are recorded on to ...

HdWMV and DVR-MS

Sorry DJ, Operating system XP Home, Service PK2. Reason I ask is I record Digital Tv at the moment in TS format. VLC displays this and streams it perfectly but would like to use Microsoft DVR-MS as a recording format as it apparently has better compression and uses less space. As for HdWMV, There ar...

Microsoft HDWMV and DVR-MS support

Hi All, I can successfully view wmv files but playback hangs when playing HDwmv files from Microsoft. I am also unable to play DVR-MS files recorded from HDTV. TS files recorded from HDTV playback are OK though. Are there any plans to incorporate these file types into Videolan...Not being an 'expurt...

DTS Functionality or lack there off

Hi Videolan, I understand the reasoning behind the removal of DTS support in Videolan. However if this functionality does not return under the Videolan license structure, would it be possible for those that want DTS to pay "DTS.we want money.co.inc.ltd" a fee for their codec license? Regar...
