Update. Just tried a nightly build (http://nightlies.videolan.org/build/win ... -win64.exe) and the problem went away.
Whatever changed, it was for the better. Can't wait until 2.1 is released!

I have the same issue. The video went pixelated and kinda silver colored at times.
Windows 7 x64
Core i3 2100 @ 3.1Ghz

Sorry for the thread necromancy, but how can I get the nightlies to work in Opera 9.02? If I just copy npvlc.dll I get an error about how it cannot find a procedure point in a .dll. This will be available in the 0.8.6 VLC release. (I think that it already works in developement versions)

For the mov from the Kodak cam, it claims to be jpeg and so is wrongly treated by VLC as we now have a jpeg decoder. I'm having the same problem, and I'm still running 32bit windows. When I click advanced, all I see is CPU Features and Other. There isn't a selection for audio there.

'Advanced' = 'Advanced options' and is a check-box in the bottom right hand corner. 'Audio' is one of the options on the left.

Does VLC support closed captioning for the hearing impaired?

Not all DVDs have English subtitles, and besides closed captioning conntains more info for deaf veiwers such as dogs barking or babies crying.
