Re: .m2t files look scary after upgrading to 0.9.2

I saw a thread here , but this thread is more recent... We just got FiOS and one of our cable boxes, moto something or other, has firewire. I'm on OS X, so installed the latest FirewireSDK. The AVCVideoCap.app recognizes the device, and captures in .m2t files. Just to test, I captured 2 files of a m...

iPhone: vlc transcoding/streaming

Others have noticed that h.264/ACC transcoding (with the wizard or cli command) with vlc doesn't create mp4 files that work with the Apple iPhone. Obviously, this is not a problem or bug with vlc, its something Apple is doing to their mp4 iPhone encodes, other than merely changing the suffix to .m4v...

Lets make sure we're on the same page... Is the setting you speak of under VLC/Preferences/Video/Filters/Crop ? Where it says "Crop Geometry (pixels)" ? If not, please be very specific what exactly you are talking about. --- edit --- I see now... under VLC/Preferences/Video where it says V...

I tried putting a ratio in there (16:10) it does nothing. Tells me a ratio is an invalid setting. But it should be a ratio it needs... that's how it works from the menu, so why's it all different in the preferences, and no mention of this in the documentation?

Thanks

Appreciated, at least for replying. I've checked the preferences, but the settings there don't seem to match up with the menu settings. And there's absolutely no mention of how to set, say, a default crop in the documenation. Where the heck are the vlc gurus?

RE -Q

Someone must know... spill the beans! How do I set default behavior for this application? If I want it to open every file with a 16:10 crop by default... how do I set that?

setting the default

Under video menu, a default setting is listed for aspect ratio, crop and video device... if 'Default' is listed, there should be a way of setting what the default is...

How do I specify my installation of VLC's default crop setting? aspect ratio? video device?
