Latest nightly is much, much faster!

Hey guys, I don't know what you did but the latest nightly plays 720p Xvid's and transport stream (720p/1080i) files much, much better on my 1.5Ghz G4. I am talking, noticeable speed difference. 720p Xvid's are now playable... 0.8.4 they are not, used to drop on avg 4-10 fps... 720p/1080i MPEG2 used...

While this is not really a VLC related question and more of a OS X question... I can still answer it for you. Right click a file that you want to be associated with VLC, ie. any .avi file. Click on "Get Info" (you can also simply click CMD-I to get this window too). From here, under the &q...

As far as I can tell this is what I am recewing in my "messages" window when I open a .ts file. ----------------------------------------- main debug: adding playlist item `Final Fantasy - 1080.ts' ( /Users/travis/Desktop/Final Fantasy 1080/Final Fantasy - 1080.ts ) main debug: creating new...

That is weird because I have tried multiple .ts files that played OK in 0.8.1.

Is there an error log or some other kind of log I can look at to see what's happening?

Thanks!

Latest nightly build fails to play .ts files (OSX)

Hey guys, I have been having some issues with 0.8.1 since upgrading to Tiger so I figured I would grab the latest nightly, May 11 2005. This version doesn't seem to play .ts files. I don't get an error, I just never see the video pop up. VLC is still active and I can stop and fast forward. Any tips?...

I would like to add something though, especially now that I have played with it for a bit. VLC seems to be very, very unstable when capturing my Firewire video. Numerous occasions it will simply restart my computer. No warning, no blue screen just bam restart. I have also noticed that if two instanc...

I have a somewhat similar problem, and while not exact it is definitely along the same vein as this. I am currently messing around with VLC's ability to capture a device stream, in my case a Motorola DCT (digital cable box) over Firewire. Technically it works, but if I try and do much with VLC it wi...

Performance question, VLC vs. WMP

Hey guys, I am currently comparing the video performance of a 720p (wmv encoded) and a 1080i ts rip that I have made from a recording. The 720p clip uses approx. 65% of my cpu w. DD5.1. The 1080i clip however uses 100% w/ the DD5.1 track. Is there anyway I can speed VLC up at all? What is the main r...

Possible to embed VLC?

Hello all, I am completely new to the development of VLC and I was wondering if it is possible to "embed" or "include" VLC within a native Mac OS X app. Think of it as the same way many apps include Quicktime...

I always loved Zoom Player's option to configure the mouswheel in combination with a "click on the middle-mouse button". Could something like this be implemented in a future version of VLC. To elaborate a bit on that feature. By pressing the mouse wheel in Zoom Player one is able to chang...

OS X 10.3.6, VLC 0.80.
Strange... postprocessing is finally working (here) in version 0.8.
Try deleting VLC preferences:
/Users/your_user/Library/Preferences/org.videolan.vlc.plist
Worked like a damn! Thanks!

I am currently using the current 0.80 version and post processing still doesn't seem to work properly.

When I turn it on, all it does is lock up the video while the audio track still plays through.

OS X 10.3.6, VLC 0.80.
