Re: VLC BUG - No time code processing for DVB-T .ts files

First of all, isn't the whole point of M2TS that it adds a timecode to every packet of the TS? But VLC doesn't parse timecode info in that case either. I'm tempted to look at this myself but I see that someone has posted a patch that was never adopted for some reason... there must be some deeper iss...

Re: Sony AVCHD .MTS files

After playing with the AVCHD support for a while I've come to see that it's not really ready for prime time yet. Some streams play perfectly, but most will glitch and hang or simply fail at some point. I hope that someone on the VLC team understands the issue. It seems like they are close. And just ...

Re: Sony AVCHD .MTS files

This is great! I tried the latest nightly build and the MTS file from my Sony work just fine. They look good too.

It doesn't recognize the file extension yet, but you can drop the files into the open playlist.

Thanks developers! Can't wait for a 0.9 release!

Quicktime DV file don't play smoothly in VLC...

I notice that when I export DV from Final Cut Pro (720x480) that VLC cannot play the files smoothly... I get about 2 frames a second on a Quad G5. The info screen shows the codec as "dvc". Quicktime has no trouble with this video... and if I explicitly export the video from quicktime as &q...

Understanding the VOB format... (what should I read?)

I'd like to learn more about the internal structure of VOBs. e.g. separating the video, audio, and subtitle streams. Can anyone suggest any reading that might help me get started? I have some ideas for VLC add-ons that I'd like to explore. If there are super-secrets involved please feel free to resp...

Transcode ripped DVD with 0.8?

I was pleased to see that with VLC 0.8 on OSX it looks like I can now transcode a ripped DVD... by playing the video_ts folder with the special output options. I have two (and a half) questions: 1) Is there any way to do this under Windows? I tried the wizard, but it doesn't seem to work. There is a...
