I am not sure if you can force decoder. It might easier to tell about this issue to PEERCAST which have much faster release cycle than VLC.

I've installed a program to get my sat tv on pc.It's got a function to stream via UDP to VLC.
The problem is that I don't get the AUDIO.
I tried with another player and it works.

So can you check please?
