Re: UDP:// streaming disappeared between 1.0.5 and 1.1.0-pre

IPv4 and not IPv6 is correct, and I also forgot to mention Multicast as opposed to Unicast... turns out I was leaving off the @ before the address udp://225.168.3.28:1234 as opposed to udp://@225.168.3.28:1234 once I added that @, everything seems to work fine again, as usual the problem existed bet...

UDP:// streaming disappeared between 1.0.5 and 1.1.0-pre4

It appears that udp:// input is no longer accepted in the new 1.1.0-pre4 release. It is not described as an MRL type and when I try it I get nothing. Strangely if I load a udp:// stream through the SAP listener interface it still works fine... Should udp://x.x.x.x:1234 still work directly? thanks -Pat

command line argument for window placement

It would be nice to have an option in the command line to specify the actual position of the window on the desktop (x.y). With this in addition to the existing settings for --width and --height, a user could have complete control of where multiple windows are placed on a screen when called from a ba...

command line OK, what about using the plugin

I can get the interface sorted out when I launch the VLC application from the command line and specify the --iface-addr. Now I am using the Plugin through Firefox and/or IE, but I am running into the same problem. Is there a way to specify the --iface-addr directive to be interpretted by the plugin ...

Closed Captioning

Hello, I work for a company that makes MPEG-2 Encoders and I recently added CC support to our AVN200 product. It is a little hard to find detailed info on, but it is out there we went according to the ATSC standard. I am curious how far along you are in development, or even interest for that matter ...

my 2 cents

it is my understanding that all PID values have to be unique, in order for the TS demux to be able to distinguish the incoming packets. Since it is possible to include multiple Programs within a single Transport Stream, each individual program (and corresponding PMT) should carry its own unique PCR ...

Transport Streams

an MPEG-2 Transport Stream is a multiplexing packet format. A TS packet has a fixed size (188 Bytes) and is composed of Header+Data. A single TS Packet can contain information about Video, or information about Audio, or information about a timing reference, or TS desription information, or one of se...

No more MPEG-2 Program Stream support

I was pleasantly surprised when I was running VLC 0.7.2 on my winXP machine and I found that it could happily decode MPEG-2 Program Streams, as I was generating them from my AVN200. I then "upgraded" to VLC 0.8.0 and the ability was gone. Uninstall, and reinstall of VLC 0.7.2 and it works ...

I think the main Aminet distributor in the US is a company called AMT out of Florida (http://www.gctglobal.com) and they can also be purchased through a company in California called Visionary Solutions (http://www.vsicam.com)
