Re: Howto stream mp3 playlist or directory

I have the same problem with the Unofficial VLC 0.93 for Windows and the official VLC 0.92 on Windows XP.

Re: Unable to join/see multicast stream

Hi, Did you ever find out what the problem was? I have an issue with DELL Latitude D420 laptops where I am unable to receive multicast UDP streams. I have them set up identically as the DELL Latitude D820 laptops that I have on the same network and these work perfectly. I have tried the latest NIC d...

Re: How to stream a file or DVD to network by command line?

Here's an example of how I do it:

start vlc.exe --ttl=16 d:\video1.avi :sout=#duplicate{dst=std{access=udp,mux=ts,dst=239.255.255.1:1234}}

That's it.

Re: Streaming a file to multiple destinations

It looks as if you are streaming on the same network. Why not use multicast? It will reduce the traffic on your network and it scales infinitely (theoretically). vlc -vvv YosemiteWonders.mpg -sout udp:239.255.255.1 --loop - -ttl 1 Let all your clients point to udp:@239.255.255.1 to playback the vide...

Re: Problem Streaming from DreamBox to PC

Try using the latest version of VLC (0.8.6d at this time). Are you using the VLC button in the Dreambox web interface to launch VLC? Are you using the original Enigma OS on the Dreambox? If both are yes, then it should work. If you are trying to type the URI to the dreambox manually in VLC, it will ...

Re: Cannot connect using multicast

Try using another multicast address: 224.0.0.0 is a net address. Try avoiding the 224.0.0.0/8 range all together as it contains a lot of "well known" addresses used by routers and routing protocols to exchange management information: Address Usage 224.0.0.1 All systems on this subnet 224.0...

Are you sure the delay isn't coming from your multicast source, in your case LabView?

If you try another client (is there one with LabView?) do you have the same delay?

If that is what you do on the command line, it will play the first avi file, exit and then play the second. If you want them both at the same time, you should use
start vlc --fullscreen blablabla
start vlc --fullscreen blablabla

Don't know if that is the issue you are dealing with though...

It could be that your client under the "new" OS doesn't respond to IGMP queries like it should, that's what I have with my new Dell Latitude D-420 laptops. The D-820's with comparable OS configuration work fine. As I didn't found anything on the Dell website about it, and I read more posts...

I have the same issue.

It works fine on a Dell Latitude D-820, but it doesn't work on the D-420 :(

I'll try to figure out why later this month, got other more urgent matters to attend to now. If you want to look for yourself, I would start with IGMP support in the NIC drivers.

I am planning to capture an IGMP conversation between a VLC listener and a VLC multicast source to see how much IGMP is supported (which version, etc). I'm finishing of the project first, so don't expect anything before the end of June. I might also have a look at the source code to see how IGMP is ...

mp4v: 1) broken sound can be fixed by reducing system load during the encode My system doesn't even notice VLC is transcoding... System load has nothing to do with it. It is very remarkable though that it's always at exactly the same time: 13'19". I'm using Videora now and that works perfectly...

That doesn't work for me either... I use the mp4v codec (and the rest of the settings the same) and that seems to work fine for the video part. Every file does have an audio problem though (stops after 13'19"). Still figuring that one out.

I'm using this on my network (Cisco) and have no problems at all. I do have IGMP spoofing switched on all my switches and use PIM Sparse-Dense mode for multicast routing. You can easily do that by adding "vlc:quit" after the commandline, so if you have this: vlc.exe file.mov :sout{blablabla}:duplicate{moreblabla} then add "vlc:quit" at the end: vlc.exe file.mov :sout{blablabla}:duplicate{moreblabla} vlc:quit This makes VLC exit after it has finish...

It might have something to do with the codec you are using...

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the Xvid codec, or using another version of it. Dunno if that will do the trick, just where I would look first.
