Re: start vlc with commandline

--wx-playlist-view {0 (Normal), 1 (Embedded), 2 (Both)}

Is the only one that I can find from help and I am not sure if that is what you are looking for.
Got it too, today : does not work.
Do any of these options work for you ? regardless of your OS.

thanks

Re: start vlc with commandline

Does it help if you shutdown VLC when playlist shows? hello and thanks for the quick reply. It does -- on my machine. But my aim it to create an autostart.inf file for a DVD or USB key where VLC starts automatically, with the playlist open, and user can choose from the list. I have to assume little...

Re: start vlc with commandline

I need to run VLC from the command-line, opening a predefined playlist file. Most importantly, I need the Playlist window to open automatically, as well. I thought the -I and/or --extraintf options would do that, but that is not the case. tested : vlc playlist.xspf -I playlist vlc playlist.xspf -I p...

Re: How to get better performance when playing HD H.264

My graphics card has on board video decoding, does VideoLan support, or will it support this? This post suggests it doesn't and isn't likely to in the foreseeable future http://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=44499&p=140451&hilit=Avivo#p140451 I found that VLC 0.8.6* does achiev...

Re: VC-1/H.264 playback too slow with VLC

I agree your hardware should handle the load, so software's the problem -- but which chunk ??

It's a shame to run crappy Vista on such hardware ...

post your results if/when you find a solution.

cheers

Re: VC-1/H.264 playback too slow with VLC

Your video is definitely not Microsoft stuff, it's H264. out of curiosity, is it possible to use NVIDIA's purevideo HD hardware acceleration that exists in the newer GeForce cards? i believe the new WinDVD8 can do it as well as some PureVideo Player released by NVIDIA. if you're using 163.69_forcewa...

Re: VC-1/H.264 playback too slow with VLC

I'm not an expert in codecs, so i don't know the difference between WMV9/VC1/H264/etc WMV9 : Microsoft MPEG4-part2-based codec VC1 : Microsoft MPEG4-part10-inspired codec H264 : the MPEG4-part10 Standard (there are many implementations : MainConcept, Nero, x264, Pinnacle, QuickTime, etcetera) Remin...

Re: 1080p choppy video

I should mention, I have several 720p movies encoded with avc1, all play fine in VLC. Why should I require the coreavc codec and a different media player just to play a slightly higher def movie? well, your statement requires 2 distinct clarifications : 1. video playback uses just about every susbs...
