Oh lol I just posted the same problem u were a few min faster (: but yeah I can confirm I have the same sound problem on Win7 64bit and VLC 2.0.1.

I just did a standard upgrade a week ago to 2.0.1;
and now the sound in mpeg4/mp4a videos I play is distorted in the lower frequencies (basses)
like its constantly peaking causing rumbling noise.

Opening the same video in Windows media player gives no audio troubles.

I tried automatic cropping but that filter is dynamically changing the aspect ratio while running (looks weird) and still is fullscreen.
