To remove menus and controls: menu View -> Minimal view
To remove the black bars of the video, if any, search for the appropriate resolution in the menu Video -> Crop

Using bookmarks would be nice if they worked. I can never seem to get mine to work. I gave up trying many versions ago.

When expanding to full screen, how about an auto crop best fit?

No borders? Am I the only one? No one else likes this idea?

Most of the time when I FF I find the menu bar annoying. It is a useful feature, but I would like the option of turning it off.

How about a right click option to jump to other monitor?

Hovering the mouse on a full screen displays a bar with the controls on it.
What I had in mind was separate translucent buttons directly on the picture.

I frequently watch one video at a time. I frequently would like to add another video to the list. I have a video full screen on one monitor and would like to open the play list in the other.

Along with faster/slower being displayed, it would be useful if the play speed was displayed also.

The play list should have next and previous play buttons.

I frequently ff and rewind movies. It would be nice if VLC also included the play speed on the screen along with the faster/slower text.

VLC should have a couple of second timer to keep it open so it doesn't close between loading clips.

I meant VLC OSD controller. You can enable it from Tools -> Preferences... (Show settings: All) Video -> Subtitles/OSD and tick On Screen Display menu. You can config it via Video -> Subtitles/OSD -> OSD menu

Yeah. They would be transparent until the mouse moved. The control buttons would pop up on the picture itself, like the volume control does.
