Re: GPU Acceleration not working - vlcrc file corrupted?

Sorry, I forgot to say this happens with all my notebooks, both with Windows 7 Pro 64 bit: one has a Nvidia GeForce GT 650m, and the other one has an AMD Radeon HD 6290.

Would it be useful to attach the vlcrc files?

GPU Acceleration not working - vlcrc file corrupted?

Hi! After I upgraded VLC to 2.1.0, I noticed that GPU Acceleration doesn't seem to work anymore: I had it enabled, because it removed "artifacts" playing mkv videos. Now, if I select "Automatic" or "DirectX Video Acceleration", nothing changes, that is, it is as it is a...

Problem playing DVDs with GPU Acceleration enabled

Hi to all! I have VLC 2.0.8 installed on Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. My graphic card is Nvidia Geforce gt650m. I enabled GPU Acceleration (this to play MKVs smooth), but, when I play any DVD and jump to any point, the screen becomes this way for a while: http://i1209.photobucket.com/albums/cc399/MrWolf80/...

Default visualizations while playing a song

Hi to all! When I play a song, I'd like to show something, so I go to Audio -> Visualizations and select for example Scope. How can I set this as default visualization when I play a song? I tried with Preferences -> Audio -> Visualizations and there are Goom, projectM, Visualizer but I can't see Sco...

Re: Problem with MPEG videos on Windows 7 64 bit

Hi!
Sorry for the late reply. Now, I have time to try.
Well, actually, for example, with Windows Media Player I can play mpeg videos without any problem.
Are you sure it's not VLC problem? Why should update video card drivers?
By the way, I'm using now a netbook with AMD Radeon HD 6290.

Re: MKV not fluid

Hi! With "input caching" you mean "file caching"? I increased it to 50000 and I got a notable improvement, but it's still not perfectly fluid as with Windows Media Player. :( What's the difference between "file cachiing" and "disc caching"? I can't find any ex...

Re: MKV not fluid

Hi again! Sorry for the late reply. Now I have time to try again. I tried enabling GPU decoding, but nothing. Ok, it's just an integrated graphic card, ATI Radeon X1270. I wish my 17'' notebook worked again... About the messages, they are all similar: main warning: picture is too late to be displaye...

Re: libaacs.dll for blu-ray

For my direct experience, not all blu-ray can be played with VLC, I think it depends on their "kind" of protection.
If you can't play just any blu-ray, maybe you haven''t put the files from the site I linked in the right position. (???)

Re: MKV not fluid

Hi! Thanks for your answer. Media Info says writing library is x264 core 112, I made them with HandBrake. I tried what suggested. First: You can speed up the H.264/MPEG-4 AVC playback by disabling loop filter for H.264 decoding. To do this go to Tools -> Preferences and Input / Codecs and in the dro...

MKV not fluid

Hi to all! I'm using the latest version of VLC on Windows XP SP3 and I've just realized that MKV are not played "fluid", while for example with Windows Media Player they are. I don't have the same issue for example with AVI. Is there any option I can try to change? Thanks in advance for yo...

libaacs.dll for blu-ray

Hi to all! I'm running Windows 7 64 bit, I downloaded libaacs.dll for 64 bit from here: http://vlc-bluray.whoknowsmy.name/ but, when I play blu-ray, it says it can find it; so, I tried with the 32 bit version, and it works. Just wondering why the 64 bit version doesn't work. Or do I need VLC 64 bit?...

Re: Brightness

Sorry if I resume this topic. However, I've just discovered that the fact that a video is "brighter" when launched in a second VLC instance depends on the option: Video -> Output modules -> DirectX -> Use hardware YUV -> RGB conversions. If I untick it, the video is "normal", not...

Hi to all! I'm using VLC 2.0.1 on Windows XP SP3; just since I've updated to VLC 2, the brightness of the video is "high": it's as in the previous version of VLC, when a second instance of VLC was launched, the second video was "brighter". Btw, I've never understood this behaviou...

Blu-ray and m2ts

Hi to all! I installed VLC 2.0.1 on Windows XP SP3; I tried to play a blu-ray (I have an external blu-ray burner), and, following a topic on the forum here, I tried to add the keys from here: http://vlc-bluray.whoknowsmy.name/ , but VLC always says I'm missing the keys. So, I guess the ones I ...
