I'd be thrilled to death if that was the only bug my VLC player had on my 10.3.9 Mac!!!

I'm running OS X 10.3.9 with QT 7.1.5 and installed VLC 0.8.6b yesterday. I could start the application, but when I tried to play a movie, it crashed. For the record, I also started my Mac in "safe mode" but still had the crash after quitting problem.
