I found out how to get hardware capture for the PVR-150

This is the STUPIDEST solution ever, I tried it in a last moment of despiration before returning my PVR-150., I downloaded the drivers for the PVR-250 and forcefully installed them for the PVR-150. Voila, it works. I'm not kidding. Before to capture video from my PVR-150, it would crash if I directl...

Segmentation Faults in Debian VLC 0.8.2

I think I've figured out more of this problem. I'm using Debian Stable (Sarge) and VLC 0.8.2svn as a client on a Microsoft Xbox. This problem mostly comes when launching VLC with a GUI from X, when connecting to a stream it can often experiance the problem of a segmentation fault and simply die. Thi...

Updating Xebian apparently kills X and stuff. o.O Which the Xbox Linux guys told me after I did it. Hah.

Though I wouldn't have to upgrade VLC if I could figure out why 0.8.2 likes to crash just when trying to connect to a UDP MPEG-2 stream. :/

Okay, and how can I edit the sources.list file? Normally I'd at least try to dig threw the GUI and find a way to edit it, however in this case, the Xbox lacks a keyboard and only inputs are by the game pad which acts as a mouse and a virtual keyboard. To control the Xbox I mostly use an SSH connecti...

Well, how can I update the version of Debian I have on the Xbox then? As far as I know, 'Xebian' is just Debian with a few tweaks and extras to cope with the minor differences between an Xbox like it's lack of a true PCI bus, the hard drives use of FATX file system and such.

VLC On Debian

I'm using 'Xebian' Linux 1.1.4 on a Microsoft Xbox which is based on "Debian stable 'sarge'". Before I begin I will state the obvious, I'm a Windows whore, I know crap all about Linux. So when you answer... Use small words and explain with detail please. However running VLC off an Xbox is ...

If you're playing a unmultiplexed set of files, that's your problem. An M2V file contains ONLY MPEG-2 video, an AC3 file contains just AC-3 audio. If you're only playing the M2V file, there shouldn't be any audio, since you loaded a video only file. Use an mpeg multiplexer to make a single MPG file ...

Consoles Screws Up If I Type Too Fast

I'll admit using a console to control software isn't something I'm used too but alll I'm trying to do is change the marquee during run time so I can have live updated text messages on my streams. Now, this works. Very simple: marq-marquee testing message one This just works fine, however if I type o...

Set Top Boxes

Can the MediaMVP set top box ( http://www.hauppauge.com/pages/products ... iamvp.html ) work with VLC? If not, which set top box options do I have that are most affordable?

Streaming to the QuickTime Player

We're looking into using VLC for streaming of live events at a convention across wifi so they can be viewed (Or time shifted) at other parts of the convention. For the sake of complete idiotproofness we want to support Windows Media Player and QuickTime Player (Basicly, support PC and Mac). Streamin...
