Re: VLC 2.0.0 downmixing to stereo

Hi, I'm suffering from the same problem (or at least one that is related), and for me, it is not fixed. The version I'm using is VLC 2.0.3. In my audio setup, the DD5.1 receiver is connected to the digital output of the sound card and I use it both for stereo (music, moviez, etc.) and for 5.1 sound ...

Re: how/where can I switch the view angle ?

It's supposed to be in Playback menu -> Navigation -> Angle -> ... but it is not tested for lack of content. Well, just wanted to clear up the question, if it may be a libdvdnav bug instead of a vlc bug. The menu you suggest doesn't exist, at least in the Qt4 interface. There is Playback -> Navigat...

Re: how/where can I switch the view angle ?

Try with another dvdnav based player. If it works, then it's a VLC bug. If it does not, then send a patch to the dvdnav guys. What I can tell you is, that it works with xine, which is, afaik, dvdnav based. It also works with mplayer, both using libdvdread and libdvdnav, but there seem to be issues....

Re: VLC + Qt4.4 = crash (QObject::killTimers: timers...)

Just to provide the information, it still happens with Qt-4.4.0-rc1 and recent vlc.

Re: VLC + Qt4.4 = crash (QObject::killTimers: timers...)

You have to be registered on the trac to make modifications. Come to IRC for that. I have been already registered. Logged in (successfully), but didn't work. Does it happen all the time ? like Open VLC; Quit. Does it happen ? It does not happen when vlc just runs. It happens, when I load a video fi...

Re: VLC + Qt4.4 = crash (QObject::killTimers: timers...)

There is a Trac entry: http://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/1453 Check if it's the same.. I actually see it also with older Qt than 4.4. Add your comments there please. No, as I said, with Qt-4.3.4 this doesn't happen, but with Qt-4.4 it happened on two computers. Still it could be a bug that just g...

VLC + Qt4.4 = crash (QObject::killTimers: timers...)

Hi, as a KDE4 svn user I have to use Qt4.4 now and compiled vlc against it. Compilation went (as far as I can see) without problems, but I experience crashes, at least on one computer. Downgrading Qt4.3 made them go away, so I guess it is a problem with Qt4.4. Can anyone verify that? Is there a tick...

It works, great.

Thank you very much!

Edit:
The only thing is, that I have to click on the video to bring it in front of the
Taskbar, seems like the fullscreen windows doesn't get activated, but that
is another, minor problem.

Yes, I did realize that, because I tried all drivers, to be sure.
But I was wondering, why the sdl output works with the svn version
and why it doesn't with 0.8.6.

That is true, this didn't do anything. But I realized today, that 0.9.0-svn does give me the correct fullscreen, if I put --vout sdl as a parameter. The version, that I have installed 0.8.6-bugfix from Gentoo's portage tree however doesn't give me the correct fullscreen when I se this parameter. May...
