To have the "Jamendo Selections" in the Playlist is nice, but VLC always stops playing after one song, even if I add all to the playlist.
So there's some room for improvement.
I wonder what this is: I got an MP4 file, but instead showing the normal video, I just saw a section of the video in full screen. The scroll wheel on the mouse did zoom in and out (instead of changing the volume), and I was able to rotate the video like in a spherical environment. I ran the video th...
With the need of sharing videos in web-conferences, it would be great to have the controls in an extra window. So you can make the video window full screen and control it from another window which is not shared. Don't know if I missed something, but all I figured out is that I can disable all visibl...
I wonder if this is something that should be fixed or filed in the bugtracker: When installing VLC, the default setting wil be that VLC is set as default player for *.mid files. However if you double click them afterwards, VLC opens with "Sound font missing, you need to download a *.sf2 first&q...
I tried again and can confirm that there is a difference.
The 1st option just does a very light deinterlacing (where the video still appears like being interlaced) while the 2nd option will use the filter you set in the preferences.
When I open a DVD and select the convert/stream option, i can select "deinterlace" like shown here: http://www.multipelife.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/vlc-step-4.jpg But the results were better when I changed the settings of the profile, went to videofiltes and chose deinterlace there. ...
Thanks to support in the #videolan IRC-channel we solved the issue!
It's not the fault of VLC, it's a bug concerning the drivers for the RX Vega Graphics: https://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/20213
Installing the latest drivers solved the issue, 3.0.4 now is working fine.
Thank you!
I'm using VLC for Android on a Fire TV. Also I used AVI and MKV files that have two audio channels and subtitles included in the same file. (So there is no extra SRT-File). While it works on the PC version it does not seem to be possible to change audio track and subtitle options in the Android vers...
On a brand new computer I installted VLC and used the latest version of course. However, it turned out that 3.0.4 already gets stuck for a few seconds if you open it. Also it was not able to display the video, since there was audio but no video. Tried both the 64bit and 32bit version. After a downgr...
I uninstalled VLC now and still had the problem (although it was slightly better in the beginning). So it doesn't seem the be the fault of VLC alltough it started with the latest version.
VLC cannot kill the Windows Explorer. Buggy DirectShow codecs or decoders can. Hm. This problem also occures when I try to select more videos with the STRG+Mouseclick. But why does it only occure since I installed the new VLC version? The computer is quite fresh so I'm not aware of having installed...
When I open a video by double clicking it from the Windows Explorer it sometimes happens that the Windows Explorer will crash after VLC opens that video. This is a problem that didn't occur with earlier versions but now happens with 0.9.9 as well as with the current 1.0rc. It's not only on my comput...
0.8.4 can do MOVs, while 0.8.5-test3 and 0.8.4-test1 can't. And of course I had the test versions running on exactly the computers where Quicktime wasn't installed - so I thought Quicktime was the reason.
I tried it again now: Same Codec in an AVI works. Same Codec in MOV worked in VLC when Quicktime was installed. The reason why I was asking is because someone explained to me that MOV is a very good container format and some kind of open format and you can put anything into a MOV. But I dislike MOV....
When installing Windows new I noticed that VLC won't play MOV files. Seems this is because I did not install Quicktime yet. The same Codec (MJPEG) in an AVI Container works fine.
I heared that MOV is now an open well documented container. So is that true? Why is QuickTime still needed to view it?
