Hiya. Nah that didn't work. I was using default settings for video output so didn't know what to change it to. Just picked one at random. Still got the audio and no video. Same problem here. Went to use VLC yesterday and it's screwed. The audio is fine. I deleted all VLC files off of my mac and reinstalled it but it didn't fix it. Also tried with an earlier version and still nothing. I get this message macosx: QT doesn't support any appropriate chroma So looks like it...

This is only a problem with a couple of video files.
When I pause the video, the audio stops, then video carries on for a few seconds and then pauses.
This is not fun when trying to make screencaps.

Any suggestions?

I'd like to know too. Just updating VLC player and I'm wondering if it's safe to update Quicktime this time around.

That sorted it.
I had heard of Pacifist before but I didn't know how to use it so thanks for the link to the guide.

Quicktime is now downgraded to 7.1.3 and VLC 0.8.6 is working just fine now.
Brilliant.

Any news on an upgrade of VLC or a possiblity of the problem with 8.6 being fixed?
