0.8.6b teletext almost perfect...

First of all I would like to say thank you to the VLC team for implementing teletext subtitles to VLC! :D There is however a few small items that needs to be changed in order for it to work perfect. 1. Subtitle Teletext decoding If you watch a TV channel with teletext for different countries, they a...

I get the same errors when playing subtitle teletext in 0.8.6.b. In international channels where you have many subtitles for different languages, I get a lot of problems; All subtitles in all languages comes in quick order, and there is no way of selecting what language you want displayed. I get the...

Some teletext format (different countries) are not well implemented. Can you deactivate some language in the subtitles track menu?
Teletext is the only option under Track. Cannot see any language options there when playing.

Teletext is working, but not entirely good. I'm watching an IPTV Mpeg 2 stream. Setting override page to -1 or 0 in the teletext subtitles decoder it displays multiple languages one after another in rapid order. The result is very confusing. Setting the override page to a teletext page causes the te...

Are DVB subtitles supposed to work?

Lets face it. It will take a loong time. I've been waiting and asking for Videolan Teletext decoding for a year... In late July this year the DJ said: i have DVB-IP Systems B Teletext decoding working now We have not heared any news since then. http://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?t=5641&am...

You have unfortunately chosen an address that is reserved.
The range 224.0.0.1 - 224.0.0.255 is
"Reserved for special “well-known” multicast addresses"
Try using any ip between 224.0.1.0 and 238.255.255.255

Another interesting project, much more complex is:

http://www.nada.kth.se/~ragge/vdr/ttxtsubs/

It appears to be a plugin for some VDR project, but if you look at the source its teletext decoding code. The source is also GNU.

I've missed teletext decoding in VLC since I started using it 2 years ago. VLC is my favourite multimedia player, and it will make me very happy if you manage to incorporate teletext, specially subtitles. The code can be downloaded from http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/apps/video/jpvtx-0.2.1.tgz [/u...

Teletext decoder could be possible!

I've found a program written in C written by by Jan Panteltje. Its a teletext decoder that can be used to transparently pipe a full transponder transport stream through it. It reads the teletext pid[s] it uses from ~/jpcam_pids, or from the command line. This is intended be used together with jpcam ...

S/PDIF Stereo output?

I do not get any output through s/pdif in stereo mode, only a/52 or ac3. Why does not VLC have the ability to put all audio out through s/pdif? I have tried preferences->Use the s/pdif audio output when available. Also I've put s/pdif output on my audio card. Other players can put out stereo (LPCM) ...

Sorry, but I posted the wrong link.

http://www.lucike.info/page_projectx.htm

This project does among other things extract Teletext from a
Mpeg-2 stream. The source code is also available, and its
GNU General Public License.

All I want is having the text to stay longer on the screen. Now it disappears after only 1/2 - 1 seconds. I tried to use the Delay subtitle Hotkey, but they did not work. The text seems to be in sync with the video, but the text disappear so fast I can hardly read it...

DVBS subtitles too fast

There does not seem to be any way to control the delay of DVBS subtitles. I've tried using hotkey H and J, but they do not seem to
work on DVBS subtitles.
Is there another way to control the flow? The text disappears much to fast from the screen.

Timer option VLC?

I'm often using VLC to stream live MPEG2 TS stream to harddisk.
Is it possible to incorporate a timer function i VLC?
It would have been much easier to record with a timer i.e (hours, min) when you stream to harddisk.
