Re: OpenGL Issues

Hope this isn't resurrecting an old thread, but with any of 3 different NVidia cards, I kept getting the same OpenGL error.

However, only the GF FX5500 showed the blue lines using xv, the two other geforces worked fine with xv. So all is good and working, but still slightly confusing.

Cheers all

Re: OpenGL Issues

I didn't really test x11 in 0.9.1, was mainly trying to get OpenGl working when that was installed, but may try it. Thanks for your help. It's a great piece of software that covers everything I need, it's just unfortunate that I've managed to break it :( I'll be changing my graphics card on the off ...

Re: OpenGL Issues

Thanks for the replies. I don't think it's an issue with the xorg.conf, I've tried various ones, and I don't have this problem with anything else. If there's anything specific I should be looking at, I can check. OpenGl - Crashes Xvideo - Blue lines X11 - Slow, not great quality Caca - Don't even go...

Re: OpenGL Issues

Yeah, it works, but with blue lines on the top and left.

Is there a magic way to get rid of these instead? They get REALLY annoying when watching a movie. So I've had to go over to mplayer, which has problems of its own

OpenGL Issues

Hi, I'm getting issues with OpenGL with VLC. I thought it was an OpenGL issue, but mplayer can stream fine with it, and glxgears is working fine. I'm using 0.8.6i, but tried with 0.9.1 which gives similar results. I'm using Gentoo, with everything up to date and seemingly in order. It used to work f...

Hmmm, there should be a way to acheive the same result tho, even if it isn't in VLC. I have an instance of VLC running all the time just listening to any UDP sent to it. I can run a network monitor, either constantly or every 5 mins or so, that checks the network traffic, if there's no UDP, it runs ...

Detecting when UDP stream has stopped

Hi, At the moment I can stream a movie UDP unicast from one place to another, however, if the source stops, I get the last frame of the video displayed until there's more data. Is there any way of specifying "If you haven't had any data for 5secs, go to black screen/no screen" or something...

Which Distributions Does The Plugin Work For?

Hi,

What Distros is everyone using with the plugins? And how well does it work? Did you have to do anything fancy to get it to work?

My experiances are:
Gentoo: 10/10 Works a treat with all ebuilds from 0.8.6
Fedora: 0/10 Crashes firefox everytime I access a vlc site (built from source)

Black No Video Screen With Audio

Hi, I can't seem to get any video playing on my iBook....or infact, any iBook. I've loaded the plugin, and it seems happy, but when I try to play any content, it plays the audio fine but the video is the default (no video) screen. Has anyone else encountered this? And is there a way to fix it? Thank...

Hi, Thanks for the info. Is there any chance of a generic how to for installing the plugins for mac? I've got an intel and can't seem to get the plugins working. I've installed the PPC plugin version and the main intel version and everything I can think of. It seems lots of people can't get the plug...
