Does vlc support the frame buffer? Is it easy to kick off the x-windows support from VLC on linux?

Help: VLC upnp error

I have installed vlc 0.8.5 and Cyberlink on Fedora, and typed the command:
./vlc --services-discovery upnp
then, I got:
main private error: no services_discovery module matched "upnp'
main playlist error: no suitable services discovery module

Who can figue out how to fix the error.

Run vlc 0.8.5, and pop-up the vlc window without menu bar(Files, View, Settings etc). Tried to play MPEG bit stream, couldn't see anything but the bit stream was played. Decode MPEG2 HD contents

Does anybody play MPEG2 HD contents on VLC 0.8.5 or 0.8.6? What are the minimum PC's requirements for the case, such as CPU clock, memory size/speed, and graphic card etc?
