Windows Movie Maker

How to you capture to file a stream that you can play in the VLC that can be opened up in Windows Movie Maker so that it can be edited, every combination of streaming will say that the file is corrupt when it is imported into Windows Movie Maker. The saved file can be opened and played by the VLC pl...

capture jpg image for webserver

Is it possible for VLC to capture an image every 60 seconds from a stream and save the image as a jpg the same name every time so that the image overwrites itself. In other words can the VLC do what some webcam programs can do. It is almost impossible to find a clear explanation of what is a very ba...

????? how about placing the exact code in the following that will hard code the time into the stream in the example below so most of the novices to the videolan can pick it up easy % vlc -vvv input_stream --sout '#transcode{vcodec=mp4v,acodec=mpga,vb=800,ab=128,deinterlace}: standard{access=udp,mux=...

Time stamp

is there any way to time stamp the stream when saved to file, by this I mean that the time is hard coded into the stream so that the file when replayed will show the time ticking as the file plays (ie show the time ticking last week when the file was created last week rather than the current time).

Burning Date And Time

is there anyway to burn the date and the time onto the images when recording to file rather than superimposing the time, when playing back a recording it would be good to have a permanent record of when events happened.

Universal UDP Address

SOMEWHERE in these post I read about a UDP address that was the same address that I was using over the LAN but I was using a different port number for each different stream. Then to view the stream on another computer I could just enter the correct port number in the first UPD/RTP option on the Open...

I don't think that the problem is that it can't be done, I think that the problem is the developers of the VLC have not had enough input from users to know how big the TV card capture driver and composite is becoming. The irony is that although the VLC is a great product, having a great product is n...

have already done this and more, the problem appears to be that when the VLC was first developed the developer used a webcam where there was no need to select the source as there was only one. Therefore the pop up boxes of the device properties is not a problem. The problem comes with TV cards and t...

Apparently there is nothing that can be done about this problem - the developer has said that he has no time to fix this problem - maybe there should be a rider before the VLC is downloaded and tried by people that this is a problem and therefore people will not waste their time thinking that they h...

Device Properties Usless for composite TV card viewing.

I have emailed the developer about the problem with TV cards and the inability to direct capture the composite input in some of them. There is a problem with the way the driver is written for a lot of these cards and when the tuner box appears last the cancel button is not cancelling the tuner optio...

LifeView WDM Video Capture - Composite Choice Never Works

there are a couple of TV capture cards that use the LifeView WDM Video Capture Driver. Other third party software such as Action Cam capture the composite or SV input with no problem but the VLC will never work. Is this a general problem with VLC that other people have found. In other words not even...

LifeView WDM Video Capture - Composite Choice

it does not appear to matter what capture card is used but if the capture choice in the setup is LifeView WDM Video Capture there appears to be no way that the VLC can even display the video let alone stream it. When the camera is hooked to the composite input the software programs that come with th...
