Ok. It would be a good feature though. It would allow the settings file to be migrated to another computer even when for example a folder with the current user account in its path is being used for VLC screenshots.

It's been a long while since the initial post, but I'm reviving it since I have a need to use environment values in paths in VLC too. Is that possible in the latest version? If so, how?

I still have the problem... It rather seems like Internet Explorer causes VLC to cache the whole file and that's what causing the delay. Or something like that. If so, then is there some way to change that? I got to thinking that it might be possible to tweak the file association settings for VLC by...
