Set VLC to Run on Start-Up/Other Options?

I use an Android app called VLC Remote that allows me to use my phone as a remote to control VLC. The problem is that it can't launch VLC on it's own. It can only work if VLC is already running. So here are my questions: Is there a way to keep VLC always running? My initial thought was to see if VLC...

Re: PC to TV, Close Lid, Video Shifts

It shouldn't. I don't have it set to make the TV an extended desktop; it's set up to be a clone.

PC to TV, Close Lid, Video Shifts

Hey guys. I have VLC 1.05 installed on my new Windows 7 65-bit ASUS laptop. I have linked to my TV via a PC to TV Converter box. While I have the settings set to "do nothing" when you close the lid, when I close the lid the video shifts from being centered on my TV screen to being shifted ...

Horizontal Lines Through Video During Playback

Hey guys, I just updated to the latest version from 0.8.6c. I've noticed that whenever I watch a video now, especially during scenes where there is a great deal of movement, slight horizontal lines appear through certain areas of the video--mostly where the movement is occuring. Any ideas why? This ...

Re: No Sound on AVIs All of a Sudden

Solved. Apparently when I installed AIM 6.5, this was a side-effect.

No Sound on AVIs All of a Sudden

All of a sudden there is no sound on all of the .avis I am attempting to play. The volume meter in VLC is set to 50%, the volume control in the systray is all the way up, and my speaker volume button is set appropriately. Yet, there's no sound. I opened up an mp3 with Winamp and the sound is fine. S...

Re: Changing Default Brightness?

I was able to fix the problem by changing the brightness setting through my Nvidia Control Panel. But I'd have liked to keep the Nvidia settings intact while only changing the default brightness in VNC. So if anyone has any other ideas, let me know. Thanks guys.

Re: Changing Default Brightness?

Thanks, but that didn't actually seem to do anything. It was set as default to 1.120000. I changed it to 1.5. That didn't do anything. So I changed it to 0.5 just to test it out and there was no difference from the 1.120000. Same with a 2.0 setting. Any idea why? Thanks!

Changing Default Brightness?

Hey guys, I've got a quick question. For some reason a lot of the .avis I have are darker than I'd like and I always have to enable the Extended GUI and slide the brightness to a little to the right of mid-line to make it look normal. Is there any way to change the default brightness setting so it's...

Fixed!

That worked! Sweet! How come that only happens for certain avi files? I would think that if it was a problem with my audio settings all along, then every avi file should have played that way. For the avi files that didn't have that problem should I revert the setting back to 5.1? Thanks!!

Video and Odd, Distant-Sounding Dialogue, .avi files

I have a few .avi files that Videolan doesn't play correctly. The video plays fine, so does any music. However, the dialogue is either non-existent, or sounds very-distant, or for-lack-of-a-better-word sounds hollow. Is this a problem with Videolan or a problem with the avi files themselves? Anythin...

All of a sudden, avi's skip

All of a sudden it seems like any AVI I play keeps skipping every couple of minutes, even with AVIs that I've played before with no problem. I've tried restarting my computer and clearing the preferences, but it still happens. What else can I try? THANKS!

Audio/Video Become Out-Of-Sync

For a particular avi file, the audio and video become out-of-sync approximately 35 minutes into the 1hr and a half movie. Is there anything I can do to correct it? I've tried re-opening the file, fast forwarding, rewinding, anything to try to create a situation where they might sync back up -- all t...
